About the grass flats charter boat

I run an 18′ flats boat with gps/fish finder, power pole, and ipilot trolling motor. This boat can get in the skinny water where some other boats can’t, giving us plenty of options for inshore fishing.

  • Rain gear ’cause its Florida and you never know
  • Cooler (kept in your car) for fish if you decide to catch and cook instead of catch and release

Hi! I am Mike DeFranco, Owner and USCG Certified Captain at Grass Flats Fishing. I am excited to welcome you to Homosassa on Florida’s beautiful Nature Coast.

Fishing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I was fly fishing for salmon a few years ago and I started talking to a guy who was struggling all week and could not land a fish his entire trip. I spent 20 minutes with this gentlemen giving him some instruction, and a few minutes later he had landed his first King Salmon. That was the moment I knew I wanted to be a fishing guide.
